At the IEEE International Conference on Software Testing (ICST) 2018, Alessandro Marchetto, Paolo Tonella and Filippo Ricca are presented the Most Influential Paper (MIP) award, for their paper "State-Based Testing of Ajax Web Applications", published in the proceedings of ICST 2008.


The paper "LIPS vs MOSA: a Replicated Empirical Study on Automated Test Case Generation" by Annibale Panichella, Fitsum Meshesha Kifetew and Paolo Tonella has received the Distinguished Paper Award at the 9th Symposium on Search-Based Software Engineering (SSBSE) that was held on September 9-11, 2017 in Paderborn, Germany.

The IEEE International Conference on Program Comprehension (ICPC) has granted three awards to members of the SE group:

  • Best paper award and ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished paper award to the paper: Mariano Ceccato, Paolo Tonella, Aldo Basile, Bart Coppens, Bjorn De Sutter, Paolo Falcarin, and Marco Torchiano, "How Professional Hackers Understand Protected Code while Performing Attack Tasks".
  • Best reviewer award to Paolo Tonella

Angelo Susi has presented the main results of the FP7 European project RISCOSS at the PMI workshop: "Designing Next Generation Project Managers" in Brindisi.


The paper: Mariano Ceccato, Cu D. Nguyen, Dennis Appelt, Lionel Briand, "SOFIA: An Automated Security Oracle for Black-Box Testing of SQL-Injection Vulnerabilities" has been awarded the Distinguished Paper Award of the 31st IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering (ASE 2016).
